LOWER LATS

EXERCISE -- BENT OVER ROW

The lats or latissimus dorsi is a large muscle group of the body. With all of the machines found in the gym or fitness center that help to develop the back muscles, one of the best standard exercises the bentover barbell row has slowly been forgotten. Because the lat muscles are a large group of muscles, both the upper and lower lats need to be developed to have that total look. Performing the sets correctly will determine how your back will develop.

WHY USE THE HELPER?
THE HELPER should be a part of your back routine. Just working on machines such as the lat pull-down will not give you that lower lat development. THE HELPER works the lower lats by using center of mass. Because of the close grip and even pull with the lats, you can feel the back muscles stretching and working. Although dumbbells work, when using a dumbbell for the one arm row we tend to cheat by jerking the weight up. A barbell requires more balance and does not give the same results as THE HELPER. Most people exercising and training do tons of lat pull-downs and upper lat work but neglect their lower lats.
